Meta Keyword Tag is not used in Google Rankings

Google has announced that Meta Keyword Tag is not used in Google search ranking at present. The keyword tag lost its importance long back when SEO and Webmasters started misusing the tag to gain higher search engine rankings for keywords which are not relevant to their website (the misuse of keyword tag can also be referred as keyword stuffing which is a black hat SEO technique). Google started to make modification to their algorithm so that this misuse could be stopped and finally they made a more advanced algorithm which looked into more off-page factors rather than on-page factors. Google still support most of the other meta tags including meta description tag.

Google interest-based advertising launched

Google has launched its interest-based advertising beta version. This will help the publishers to choose whether to increase their brand awareness or to increase their ad responses. The success of a campaign will increase as well as it should increase the earnings as advertiser participation increases. This interest-based advertising is a big news for all. The beta version is expected to run till late 2009. I am planning to test out the Google interest-based advertising beta version. I am waiting for some reviews.
